Google Testing Anchor Text Links in SERPs

by Marc Bitanga on March 16, 2010

This is a quick post pointing out something I had discovered recently in Google. By now most SEOs are aware that Google rewards top sites with sitelinks; additional links shown below the original search result for a web page.

But recently while doing some research I stumbled across a sitelink that appeared within the area of the page’s meta description.

After some quick digging the search result was generated by using an internal anchor text on the homepage.

So for all of you trying to squeeze every bit of clicks out of their existing search results, this is one method to make your search result stand out from the crowd.
