What is Exclamation Marc?

Exclamation Marc is my blog and late night rants, findings and observations on SEO, pay per click advertising, social media, web analytics and whatever else is on my mind that’s keeping me up at night.

About Me

I am the SEO Manager for EA Sports .

I’ve been involved in most things online since I made my first Geocities website in 1995. Which was horrible. It went against every tasteful web design best practice, complete with on-page load midi and marquee banner.

I eventually learned the ropes walking a fine line between online marketing and IT; ranging from working as a Linux administrator at a dot-com web hosting startup to an analyst heading web design and web development projects for a Fortune 500 company.

I began my SEO career when the company I worked for implemented the Google Search Appliance on their web site back in 2000. The search engine wasn’t retrieving the right search results so I had to learn how it worked in order get the most relevant search results to come up for certain search queries. I then moved on to launch an ecommerce side venture that also required SEO skills. I eventually sold the web site to a private investor.

Today I focus on SEO, PPC advertising and Web Analytics, having worked for agencies such as Cossette Communications and Enquiro. I was also the SEO Manager for Suite101.com, an editorial website with over 10,000 freelance writers and over 300,000 articles.

I enjoy discussing online marketing; debating and learning from others, so feel free to post any comments.

Cheers,
Marc Bitanga
