Blended search is now in full bloom for Google. For certain news-worthy or trending search queries, Google may include top news results, blog posts, video results and now…real-time streaming social media results.
Are streaming real-time search results within this context useful? That’s another blog post altogether.
But for anyone who is still in doubt about the value of participating in social media, it should at least tip you off that social networks are here to stay and that Google is taking social media & social networking sites as a viable content source.
